The Witch Hunt

Every one in the room heard it, I heard it, I just can't believe I said it. "Yes". One word that can control your future. The hole village was in the room. They have all seen the trials, the judges shouting at you, accusing you, but none of them know what it feels like. I have seen the extreme trials, being put in a cage like a monster, begging for your life.

My family were sitting there with the looks of despair on their faces, what have I done? Why did I say that word? I've seen the trials were people have said yes and most of them live, the judges want to make examples of them show the rest of Salem what a witch looks like. All that I know now is I need to live, what ever happens I need to live.

Mary Howard was my neighbour, she was accused of making a broom fly across the room. Her trial was six weeks long. Every day she said No. "Are you a witch!?" They asked her, shouted at her. All she said was "No". Her son was at every appearance she made, even her last, she said she was innocent all she told was the truth and her son had to see her body drop.

I know what happens, I know how to survive, I know what I need to do.

  1. Due to slight errors in context and grammar, she does not achieve full marks, otherwise, a very good story (but perhaps some decisiveness is required e.g. what was this condemning word which the character uttered?) 7/10 -Criterion A

    1. Thank you Kenny, by the way the word uttered was seen in the phrase {I just can't believe I said it. "Yes".}

  2. The author demonstrates a clear and precise understanding of the topic, as well as laying it out as if it were a written timeline of events. Her target is to continue to maintain a high standard in regards to Understanding. 10/10 (I marked it the wrong way around, so A is C, and C is A) Criterion C
