Act III Scene 4
First Murderer appears at the door
MACBETH:
See, they encounter thee with their hearts’ thanks.
Both sides are even: here I’ll sit i’ the midst:
Be large in mirth; anon we’ll drink a measure
The table round.
Approaching the door
There’s blood on thy face.
FIRST MURDERER:
’Tis Banquo’s then.
MACBETH:
’Tis better thee without than he within.
Is he dispatch’d?
FIRST MURDERER:
My lord, his throat is cut; that I did for him.
MACBETH:
Thou art the best o’ the cut-throats: yet he’s good
That did the like for Fleance: if thou didst it,
Thou art the nonpareil.
FIRST MURDERER:
Most royal sir,
Fleance is ’scaped.
MACBETH:
Then comes my fit again: I had else been perfect,
Whole as the marble, founded as the rock,

Exit Murderer
This scene gives the audience key insight into Macbeth's mind, firstly you can see from his words that he was "perfect" with the thought that banquo and fleance escaped. However I think that one of the reasons Macbeth reacted this way was because he now knows that his children will not be king. Secondly he now knows that flelance can testify to saying that his fathers death was not an accident.
MACBETH:
Blood hath been shed ere now, i’ the olden time,
Ere human statute purged the gentle weal;
Ay, and since too, murders have been perform’d
Too terrible for the ear: the times have been,
That, when the brains were out, the man would die,
And there an end; but now they rise again,
With twenty mortal murders on their crowns,
And push us from our stools: this is more strange
Than such a murder is.
LADY MACBETH:
My worthy lord,
Your noble friends do lack you.
MACBETH:
I do forget.
Do not muse at me, my most worthy friends,
I have a strange infirmity, which is nothing
To those that know me. Come, love and health to all;
Then I’ll sit down. Give me some wine; fill full.
I drink to the general joy o’ the whole table,
And to our dear friend Banquo, whom we miss;

Re-enter Ghost Of Banquo
This extract occurs just after the ghost of banquo had entered the feast. In it, Macbeth's sense of natural order of the world has been distorted. This is because in the past he has killed many people and never before has he seen a ghost

Macbeth Video
Group A: Jono, Connell, Amy, Henrietta
Immediately executed the necessary steps to address the activity. Organised effectively a punctuation read. Working well as a team. Amy and Jono led the discussion at first, organising the team's time. Henrietta editing well. Connell pointing out the 60 second nature of the task, but rest of the group weren't listening, which was frustrating for him. Came to a group conclusion rather quickly about setting. Then had to revise original plan as hadn't fully anticipated how to edit the scene. Clear sense of what is happening in the scene. Separated it out into key moments. Henrietta and Amy used book notes and did some detailed editing. However, no real overview of time keeping. Noticed suddenly only 10mins left. Connell took over editing to speed it up. Some sense of frustration at not finishing this on time. Difficult to just get started, but did with only 3.5mins left!
B = 7 overall (may change with finished product)

MACBETH:

Water
Water is infinite,
Water is freedom,
Water is pure.
When you look at water you see the trickle of prosperity,
You see the peace against chaos,
And you see the glimmering gargle of flowing playfulness.
When you hear the splashes of water you think of a smooth and silky texture,
You think of the fundamental compound of Mother Nature,
And you think of a refreshing water fall.
When you touch water you can feel the sadness and happiness that runs through it,
You feel the sinewy flow of the rivers, seas and oceans,
And you can feel the shiny freedom that every living atom craves.

Word Frequency in "The Crucible"
Many of the most frequent words in the Wordle, with the common words, are words such as "I" and "You". This makes me think that the play "The Crucible"is revolved around people and no the actual thought of witchcraft. Other word frequently mentioned are character names the most used are those of Proctor, Danforth and Parris. We can conclude from this that these characters are most likely to be the main characters of the play.

The Witch Hunt
Every one in the room heard it, I heard it, I just can't believe I said it. "Yes". One word that can control your future. The hole village was in the room. They have all seen the trials, the judges shouting at you, accusing you, but none of them know what it feels like. I have seen the extreme trials, being put in a cage like a monster, begging for your life.
My family were sitting there with the looks of despair on their faces, what have I done? Why did I say that word? I've seen the trials were people have said yes and most of them live, the judges want to make examples of them show the rest of Salem what a witch looks like. All that I know now is I need to live, what ever happens I need to live.
Mary Howard was my neighbour, she was accused of making a broom fly across the room. Her trial was six weeks long. Every day she said No. "Are you a witch!?" They asked her, shouted at her. All she said was "No". Her son was at every appearance she made, even her last, she said she was innocent all she told was the truth and her son had to see her body drop.
I know what happens, I know how to survive, I know what I need to do.

What is tragedy?
My first thoughts about tragedy are that it is made so then every one who watches can relate to it even though it is often exaggerated for example when the greeks made plays about tragedy they managed to put everything in one day and it would still be believable, a lot alike modern soap operas. Tragedy is based on the misfortune of others this can link people together as misfortune is the universal suffering. Tragedy also plays a major part in day to day life as tragedy is alike to catharsis, for example sometimes you feel better after crying or being sick. Tragedy is most oftenly shown within plays or TV programs so then they are easily accessible.

In What Way could the five core values help me to learn in the English classroom and what values can I use to improve my learning?
The first core value, courage, can help me because I will challenge
myself and improve. You also need the courage to set your aims high, for
example an A* instead of an A. The second value, Integrity, can help you learn
because you have to be honest with your self about your work and if you could
work harder. The third value, Responsibility, I think is very important and
links in to integrity, you need to take responsibility for your work, just like
you have to be honest about your work. The fourth value, Respect is important
for your learning because you need to respect your classmates and teachers to
make a better learning and working environment. Lastly, the value of kindness is
a great value in the English classroom because if your classmates are unkind to
you, you would not then have the courage to challenge your self to improve and
would then create a bad learning environment.
